We welcome back the head of Sonic Team, Takashi Iizuka to Summer of Sonic! Iizuka-san has a career spanning three decades within Sonic Team, as multi-time Producer and Director on titles such as the Sonic Adventure, Sonic Colours and Sonic Generations, along with the original NiGHTS into Dreams game. Iizuka-san will be flying in from Japan to join us once more, to answer your questions live on stage and sign autographs at a meet and greet session!

Kazuyuki Hoshino, the creator of Amy Rose and Metal Sonic, joins the Sonic Team cohort at Summer of Sonic 2013! Amongst the many titles he has worked on, Hoshino-san is probably best known for his designs in Sonic CD, Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes to name a few, along with involvement in the NiGHTS franchise. Hoshino-san will also be joining us on-stage to take part in a live Q&A session, and once again we invite you all to send us your questions! If you would like to meet Hoshino-san, you can by attending the signing desk during the course of the day.

 

Jun Senoue (Sonic Team, Crush 40)senoue2
Legendary composer and Crush 40 guitarist Jun Senoue will again be joining our list of illustrious guests this year! Senoue-san is best known for his work on the soundtrack of early titles such as Sonic 3, and for redefining the sounds of Sonic with his direction on Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2. Fans can look forward to an on-stage performance of a selection of songs from throughout Sonic history, as well as the chance to meet Senoue-san at the signing booth.

Once again we are pleased to announce that Sonic the Comic legend Nigel Dobbyn will be back for another year of Summer of Sonic! Nigel has been involved with many popular comic strips including the Beano and 2000AD publications, but of course we all know him for his trademark artwork contributed to Sonic the Comic. Fans will be able to meet Nigel at the signing booth this year, and will be involved in art classes throughout the day.

We’d like to welcome back our longest serving Summer of Sonic veteran, Nigel Kitching! Nigel is reknowned for his work on Sonic the Comic which spans virtually the entire history of the publication, and was responsible for developing many of the comic’s unique plots. Nigel will also be present on the signing booth and involved with the art class sessions.

 

 

FerranRodriguezFerran Rodriguez (Sonic the Comic)

Hailing all the way from Barcelona, we welcome Ferran to his first guest appearance at Summer of Sonic. Ferran is the artist behind many of the early pieces of artwork for Sonic the Comic (including covers, strips and pinups) which have become some of the most well known images from the Sonic franchise in the 90s. If you’d like to meet señor Rodriguez, he will be signing autographs, sketching and talking to fans over in the art corner, right next to the STCO gang.
